Phillips 66 says no Bakken crude oil planned for Nipomo Mesa refinery

The EIR for the proposed rail terminal project at the southern California sister refinery of our Rodeo facility has been opposed for many reasons, including the transport of Bakken crude in unsafe tanker railcars.  Phillips 66 has now capitulated, stating that it will not receive Bakken Crude at that facility.

In an effort to defuse concern about potentially explosive crude oil shipments, Phillips 66 officials said this week that they would not accept any light crude oil from the Bakken region as part of a proposed rail project at the Nipomo Mesa refinery.
